M. Scott Bucci

Scott’s practice includes almost all areas of civil litigation, but he primarily represents clients in personal injury matters.  He has tried over 70 cases to verdict with a greater than 80 percent favorable verdict rate (wins in cases of contested liability, or verdicts above or below the opposing sides’ last offer or demand in admitted liability cases).  He has tried cases ranging from automobile accidents and premises liability matters, to products liability and construction disputes.  He is often requested to associate as co-counsel on personal injury matters as well.

Prior to founding Bucci & Dix, LLC, Mr. Bucci was a partner at a boutique civil litigation firm located in downtown Richmond.  He has represented a variety of corporations and insurance companies in lawsuits throughout Virginia.  In particular, Mr. Bucci was trial counsel for Wal-Mart for over 7 years in state and federal courts, and in the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Mr. Bucci has tried cases in over 25 jurisdictions in Virginia, including state court trials in Richmond, Chesterfield, Hanover, Henrico, Petersburg, Colonial Heights, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Newport News, Chesapeake, Gloucester, York County, Prince William County, Arlington, Fairfax, Montgomery County, Charlottesville, and Lynchburg.  He frequently represents clients in federal courts in the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia, and has tried cases in the Newport News and Alexandria Divisions of the Eastern District of Virginia, and the Harrisonburg and Danville Divisions of the Western District of Virginia.

Mr. Bucci graduated With High Honors from the George Mason University School of Law in 1998.  He worked as a law clerk for the Virginia Beach Circuit Court after graduation from law school.  He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Virginia, and was awarded the Malcolm H. Kerr scholarship to study Middle Eastern culture in Cairo, Egypt.

Mr. Bucci has lived in the Richmond area since 1999.  He resides in Midlothian with his wife, Melissa, and their two bulldogs, Bogart and Lola.

Mark D. Dix

Mark concentrates his practice in the areas of labor and employment, medical malpractice, and personal injury litigation.  He has tried several jury trials in Virginia and the District of Columbia, and has developed an expertise in cases of traumatic brain injury.  Mark has been frequently retained, or consulted by other law firms, to assist in traumatic brain injury cases.  Prior to starting Bucci & Dix, LLC, he was a partner, and head of the labor and employment practice group, at a downtown Richmond law firm.

Before coming to Richmond, Mark served for two years as an Assistant Attorney General for the District of Columbia as of one the city’s first Honors Program litigators.  In that capacity, he defended the District of Columbia and government officials, including Mayor Anthony Williams and Chief of Police Charles Ramsey, in civil rights, habeas corpus, tort, and labor and employment matters.

Mark earned his undergraduate degree in business from the College of William and Mary, and graduated cum laude from the George Mason University School of Law.  While in law school, Mark was Managing Editor of the George Mason Law Review, and a summer associate at the Washington, D.C. boutique trial firm of Stein, Mitchell & Mezines.  After law school, Mark clerked for Judge John H. Bayly, Jr. of the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.

Mark is a native of Vienna, Virginia.  In his spare time, Mark enjoys reading, following current events, and watching sports, especially Washington Redskins football.

Jamie N. Sasser

Jamie concentrates her practice on labor and employment and personal injury matters.  She joined Bucci & Dix in February, 2008.  Jamie graduated With High Honors from the University of Richmond School of Law, where she was a member of the University of Richmond Law Review and the University of Richmond Journal of Law and the Public Interest.  She completed her undergraduate studies at the College of William and Mary, graduating With Honors.

Jamie was the president of the Hispanic Community Legal Liaison Association, and was a member of the Student Advisory Committee on Diversity and Dialogue.  She previously worked at the Richmond Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union.

Jamie and her husband live in Midlothian, Virginia.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading, travelling, and cooking.

Clinton W. Verity

Clint practices in the areas of labor and employment, personal injury, and civil rights litigation.  He joined Bucci & Dix in August 2008.  Clint graduated summa cum laude from the Appalachian School of Law, where he served as an associate editor and senior editor for the Appalachian Journal of Law.  Additionally, he received the Above and Beyond the Call of Duty Award for his service on the journal, a merit scholarship, and the Dean’s Award of Outstanding Scholarly Achievement for Civil Procedure.  He earned his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from James Madison University.

Prior to joining Bucci and Dix, Clint was a summer intern for the Honorable Justice Lawrence L. Koontz, Jr. of the Virginia Supreme Court and the Office of the Attorney General of Virginia in the Antitrust and Consumer Litigation Section.

Clint is a native of Roanoke, Virginia.  He resides in Hanover with his wife, son, and two Labrador Retrievers.  In his spare time, Clint enjoys fly-fishing, hunting, and working on antique vehicles.
